Florisynergy: The Software Helping Growers Scale Sustainably

According to the United Nations, one of the most effective ways to bring transparency to supply chains is traceability, the ability to track a product’s journey from farm to shelf. Consequently, international markets are shifting toward digital agriculture and traceability.

In Kenya, tech companies are providing tailored solutions to farmers, harmonizing greenhouse operations. One such technology is Florisynergy, an Enterprise Resource Planning system by ThinkSynergy.

Initially developed in 2018 at the request of a single flower farm, we didn’t have much knowledge of horticulture back then, but we were open to listening and building from scratch,” says David Okeyo, a software engineer and sales associate at ThinkSynergy.

According to David, what sets this technology apart is its modular, grower-centric design. Unlike rigid ERP systems that force farms to adapt to software, the software adapts to the unique operational realities of each flower farm, small or large.

We don’t just sell an ERP, we offer an end-to-end platform,” explains David.

Reiterating this, what is essentially meant is how the platform harmonizes farm operations into one customizable solution, from field to dispatch.

The solutions include:

  • Field Production – Manage and monitor planting, growth cycles, and harvester performance in real time.
  • Packhouse Management – Track each stem from bucket to dispatch. Barcoded buckets tied to specific workers and zones help quantify output and identify bottlenecks.
  • Scouting & Spraying – Integrated pest and disease monitoring modules, with drone-supported scouting in development, help farms reduce chemical usage and improve plant health.
  • Inventory & Stock Management – Keep track of consumables and packaging stock. The system even encourages sustainable choices by flagging packaging types, supporting the shift toward biodegradable and recyclable materials.
  • Traceability to Stem-Level – Each stem’s journey, from greenhouse to export, is recorded. This visibility is vital for audits, compliance (such as EU phytosanitary standards), and sustainability certifications.

“Clients can opt for a complete rollout or onboard gradually by selecting only the modules they need most,” says David.

He emphasizes that the system provides scalability for all sizes of operations.

Take Mt. Elgon, for instance, a major player harvesting over 200,000 stems daily. They’ve adopted the full suite to coordinate greenhouse operations, manage hundreds of harvesters, and monitor inventory and exports with precision,” he highlights.

Additionally, smaller farms benefit from custom module selection, flexible pricing, and even free pilot programs to ease onboarding, ensuring the technology remains accessible, scalable, and sustainable for farms at every stage.

According to the expert, one of the solutions sore strengths lie in its ability to turn raw data into real-time analysis, boosting transparency and accountability in the farm.

Credible Blooms, a grower managing 11 greenhouses, 40+ flower varieties, and over 200 harvesters, with Florisynergy, the farm can now track productivity down to individual harvesters, quantify stem lengths, and monitor which sections of the greenhouse are yielding the most,” he notes.

Besides, the platform is evolving with cutting-edge features under development to meet the growing demands of digital floriculture. Among the most promising innovations are drone technology integration which will enable scouting and crop monitoring powered by high-resolution imagery and sensor data.

Also, our Letter of Credit feature support secure international transactions, providing assurance to both growers and buyers in the export market,” adds David.

Moreover, sustainability is at the company’s core of operation, promoting responsible farming in daily operations, offering growers the tools to reduce their environmental footprint while staying compliant with emerging global standards.

The systems sustainability features include, smart water use; nutrient management, that is tracking soil nutrient levels and recommending optimized fertilizer application based on real-time data; Eco-Friendly Packaging Insights; and chemical use tracking allowing farmers to monitor, record, and optimize agrochemical applications, supporting safe export practices.

Thinksynergy also provides round the clock system support and on-farm training.

We don’t just install and leave, we walk the journey with you,” says David.

As floriculture continues to evolve, this technology is helping farms become investment ready, by being transparent and compliant to policy requirements.

By combining real-time data, modular flexibility, and a deep understanding of grower operations, ThinkSynergy is not just providing software, they’re enabling transformation.
